It’s party time at the mountains with the biggest dump of snow falling since 2003 with over a meter of snow in the last week and there’s more coming!!

This is no time to miss out on all the fun so, buy some snow gear for up to 50% off at Ballistyx and head to your favourite mountain this weekend.


Buller: looking spectacular with over 120 cm of snow and 19 lifts running.
Resort rating: Excellent.
Skiing and boarding: We’re currently sitting on a natural base of 113cms and up to 141cms in manmade areas, with 19 fantastic lifts turning across the mountain.

If you’re hitting the slopes today you can expect to find an excellent cover of fresh, dry, powder snow! Ski Patrol recommends Bourke St for beginners, Tirol for intermediate and the Village Area for the more advanced! Or why not head out early this morning to carve up some untracked powder turns!

Terrain park: Open.

Cross country trails: Very good, un-groomed.

Tobogganing: Open.

What's happening: SUBARU VICTORIAN INTERSCHOOLS – DAY 5 It’s looking set to be another day of Interschools fun out there on the slopes!

The girls moguls will be taking place on Chamois, while the boys boarder cross and girls skier cross will be taking place on Emirates. Also head over to Skyline to see the boys Alpine GS and Little Buller Spur for girls Alpine GS.

Resort report: 54cm of fresh in the past 24hrs! 226cm has fallen so far in August! Fresh powder tracks everywhere today! We have seen well over 2 metres of fresh snow fall since the start of August. All lifts open at Falls Creek.

Snow conditions: Excellent Skiing & Boarding on a fresh dry cover of snow. Grooming conducted overnight.

Cross country: Very Good to Excellent cover of fresh dry snow. Grooming conducted August 21st 2010.
