Former St Kilda captain Danny Frawley has compared North Melbourne midfielder Ben Cunnington to a two-time Brownlow Medallist.
Frawley also rated the 26-year-old among the elite midfielders of the competition.
“I keep watching him, I think he has the cleanest hands in the game,” Frawley told SEN Breakfast.
“Not only the one-touch, it’s a bit Greg Williams-like the vision he has when he turns his body under extreme heat and get it out to a runner. It is elite.”
Three-time All-Australian Nick Dal Santo is equally impressed with another key North Melbourne player.
“Speaking of underrated players, Robbie Tarrant – he is a colossus down there, he is fantastic,” Dal Santo said.
Frawley agreed and loves the work of the key defender.
“He has been a hair's breadth away from the last two All-Australian teams,” Frawley said.
“He’s my love-child at the moment.”
North Melbourne has picked up two big wins over St Kilda and Carlton, but now faces a challenging month ahead.
They face Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, Sydney and Richmond, but Dal Santo thinks they have a fighting chance.
“It’s a big month, but I think we’ve learned already from the first month that you don’t need to be too far off your best to be made to look pretty foolish.”
