Carlton will not be applying for a priority pick this season, CEO Cain Liddle has confirmed to SEN Time On host Sam McClure.
The Blues are languishing in last position after 10 weeks, but that won’t make them take shortcuts to climb up the ladder.
“I have just spoken to Cain Liddle, the CEO of the Carlton footy club, and he has told me that Carlton will not be applying for a priority draft selection this year,” McClure told SEN’s KB and The Doc.
“It comes after a pretty strong column from the chief football writer of The Age Jake Niall on the weekend, saying the Blues, if anyone, deserves a priority draft pick.”
McClure also added Liddle said, “we got ourselves into this situation, we will get ourselves out of it.”
SEN chief sports caller Gerard Whateley said there would be a “mutiny” amongst the other clubs if Carlton got a priority pick.
