Former Essendon captain Tim Watson has exclusively revealed Sydney’s response to a tweet published by former St Kilda coach Grant Thomas.
Thomas accused the Swans of standing star duo Lance Franklin and Daniel Hannebery down for disciplinary reasons across rounds six, seven and eight.
The two missed the three games with heel and groin injuries respectively.
Was Franklin & Hannebery injuries coincidentally the same time frame?🤔 Hearing perhaps internal punishment for off field indiscretions? I’m sure it’s just gossip - there’d be no way Bud would do anything wrong off field. 😳

Watson said the Swans categorically denied the claims.
“This is a response from inside the four walls at the Swans,” Watson revealed to SEN Breakfast.
“Absolutely laughable. I’d like to think that if we stepped a player down for poor discipline, we’d call it out as it was.”
Sydney defeated Carlton by 30 points on Friday night and will now take on Thomas' old side St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
