Lachie Neale spent the weekend in Queensland and met with Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan, according to SEN Time On host Sam McClure.
“Lachie Neale has spent the weekend in Queensland, he flew in on Sunday and he met with Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan,” McClure told SEN’s Time On.
“This saga is only beginning. Fremantle have a real fight on their hands to have Lachie Neale playing for them next year, despite the fact that he has a contract.
“They’re not going to die wondering are the Brisbane Lions.
COULD THIS SOCIAL MEDIA HINT CONFIRM THE NEALE TO BRISBANE LINK?
“You probably would have heard (Fremantle CEO) Steve Rosich across the weekend and thought that’s that, Lachie Neale will re-sign at Fremantle and the story will be over.
“I’m not sure it’s that easy. I think there is more to play out in this one.
“If he is meeting with Chris Fagan on the weekend, just 24 hours after meeting with Steve Rosich where he was offered a lengthy new contract extension at good money by Fremantle, then clearly he is more than just considering playing for the Brisbane Lions in 2019.”
McClure broke the news of the Lions’ interest in Neale on SEN’s Whateley last week.
