Hawthorn ball-magnet Tom Mitchell has claimed this year’s Brownlow Medal after a superb 2018 season.
The 25-year-old polled 28 votes, four clear of Collingwood star Steele Sidebottom, with Melbourne's Angus Brayshaw in third on 21.
The Hawk - who came into the count as the red-hot favourite - got off a to a flying start, polling maximum votes in his first three games and didn’t look back from there.
Mitchell becomes the first Hawthorn player to win the prestigious award since Sam Mitchell back in 2012.
