SEN SA breakfast host Kane Cornes believes Port Adelaide is on the verge of making a captaincy announcement, with Ollie Wines and Tom Jonas to replace Travis Boak in the role.
The former Power midfielder believes the only hold up is working out some of the logistics of dual captains.
“I think, and I’ve said it since Boak stood down, it will be dual captains,” Cornes told SEN SA breakfast.
“I’m pretty firm on that. I think that is more than likely to happen and I expect it to be Ollie Wines and Tom Jonas.
“That’ll be announced probably late February I’d imagine.
“I think they are 95 per cent convinced of the model.
“What they might not know are the logistics around it.
“Port is a club with such strong history and tradition and the (captain getting the) number one guernsey has always been pretty important.
“I think the hold up has been speaking to the key stakeholders and the board and working out what they do.”
Boak stood down as captain late last year.
