Richmond captain Trent Cotchin hopes to return to training next week, but is unlikely to be fit for the Anzac Day Eve clash against Melbourne.
Cotchin, 29, is currently sidelined after picking up a hamstring injury in the Round 3 loss to GWS and was expected to miss up to three weeks.
The 2012 Brownlow Medallist could be available when the Tigers take on the Western Bulldogs in Round 7.
“I’m progressing pretty well,” Cotchin told SEN’s KB and The Doc.
“Initially, we thought it was a medial but it's more so the outside, so you always take a little bit more care coming back.
“Hopefully I’ll join the group next week in training … I think with the short turnaround it would be a challenge (to play against Melbourne).”
Damien Hardwick’s side sit 2-2 and face Sydney at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.
