Fremantle coach Ross Lyon has done little to defuse the speculation surrounding Brad Hill’s future at the club.
According to the Herald Sun, Hill will notify the Dockers of his wish to break his contract and request a trade back to Victoria with a host of clubs interested in the 26-year-old.
The three-time Hawthorn premiership midfielder is contracted to the Dockers until the end of 2021.
“Brad’s playing super football … we have a strong working relationship and respectful on both sides,” Lyon told reporters.
“We empathise and try and put ourselves in all our players' shoes. But at the end of the day we have list managers and football sub-committees that get to work on those types of situations when they arise.
“I’m sure we will deal with the situation when it arises.”
Lyon was more positive when questioned on whether Ed Langdon will remain a Docker next season.
“Ed is one of our developed young players who’s come through and he’s played super on the weekend,” he said.
“I’d be optimistic we could re-sign Ed. But I’ll leave it to (football operations manager) Peter Bell and his list management team.”
Langdon, 23, is out of contract at season’s end as is generating plenty of interest from Victorian clubs.
Fremantle take on St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Sunday and remain in the hunt for a finals spot.
