Mixed news on the injury front for the Western Bulldogs as the team embarks on a pre-season training camp to Queensland.
Veteran midfielder Tom Liberatore will miss the start of the 2019 season, with Channel 7’s Mark Stevens reporting that he is having issues with his troublesome knee.
“The news is not as good for Tom Liberatore who is taking some time to get over some knee soreness,” Stevens told 7 News.
“The Dogs are now resigned to the fact that he will probably miss Round 1 and will start in the VFL.”
Aaron Naughton is also dealing with a knee injury, one suffered in the finals loss to GWS, however he is hoping to be ready for the pre-season games.
“The Bulldogs had some match simulation (on Sunday). They have 40 fit players on the track and they’re in good spirits,” Stevens said.
“A lot of focus on Aaron Naughton, his biggest test since that serious knee injury in the finals, he got through three quarters, very positive signs.”
The Bulldogs take on North Melbourne on February 21st at Marvel Stadium in their first Marsh Community Series match.
