GWS’ tight salary cap could see them lose at least one of its star players, according to The Age’s Sam McClure.
McClure understands that gun midfielder Josh Kelly is seen as “gettable” by rival clubs with the Giants “well over” the salary cap for 2021.
Kelly signed a two-year extension with GWS last year that includes a trigger clause to extend the deal for another eight years.
The 10-year commitment is worth close to $1 million dollars a season.
Kelly rejected a reported nine-year, $10 million-dollar offer from North Melbourne to stay at the Giants.
He is a free agent at the end of 2021.
Star Giants pair Jeremy Cameron and Zac Williams are out of contract at season’s end.
