Geelong is keen on luring former Melbourne co-captain and free agent Jack Viney to the club, according to the Herald Sun's Jay Clark.
Viney, who co-captained Melbourne for three years between 2017 and 2019, becomes a restricted free agent at the end of the 2020 season having not yet re-signed with the Demons.
According to the report, the Dees remain intent on keeping Viney at the club but talks are set to drag on until after the completion of the current season.
The 26-year-old would command a deal worth over $650,000 per year, which could trigger a first-round compensation pick.
Geelong is interested in signing either Jack Viney or Adelaide midfielder Brad Crouch as a free agent during the upcoming player movement period as they look to boost their on-baller stocks.
