Report: The four clubs currently linked to Adam Saad

At least four opposition clubs are currently circling rebounding Essendon defender Adam Saad, who remains uncontracted beyond this season.

Saad, who finished third in the club’s best and fairest behind Jordan Ridley and Zach Merrett, is currently weighing up his options amid uncertainty at the club.

According to the Herald Sun, Victorian heavyweights Richmond and Carlton are interested in securing Saad.

Jordan Lewis told SEN Breakfast on Monday that the Blues should prioritise the signing of the dashing defender, as David Teague looks to add more speed to his side before 2021.

But it appears Richmond and Carlton aren’t the only two clubs interested in the Bombers defender, with Channel 7 reporting that North Melbourne is keen on luring him to Arden Street.

It comes after Bob Murphy suggested that if Saad does opt to leave Essendon, it was Melbourne who appeared to be the leading contender to sign him.

Saad played all 17 games for Essendon in 2020, averaging a tick under 19 disposals.
