Jordan De Goey will not be playing for Carlton next year.
Well-placed sources have confirmed that the Blues don’t have an interest in the out-of-contract Collingwood star.
De Goey, 24, has been linked to Carlton amid widespread conjecture over his playing future.
It’s understood the player himself was open to the possibility of exploring a switch to Princes Park, but the Blues have been busy elsewhere in the trade space under the guidance of list management boss Nick Austin and national recruiting manager Mick Agresta.
GWS restricted free agent Zac Williams has nominated Carlton as his club of choice, while Essendon’s Adam Saad has put in a trade request to join the Blues. If there was an initial preliminary enquiry from Carlton to De Goey, it certainly won’t be going any further.
De Goey is being managed by his father Roger after splitting with Scopo Management’s Ben Niall, but it’s believed he is close to appointing another full-time representative.
The forward-midfielder kicked 12 goals in four finals matches in 2018, but has recently struggled to produce his best form consistently.
