Rumours always circulate at this time of the year and star Melbourne midfielder Clayton Oliver has been mentioned as a player who could possibly want a trade.
Oliver, who is contracted for 2021 with the Demons, has been linked with a move to Carlton.
Melbourne great Garry Lyon however says that will not be happening.
“A lot of stuff comes across our desk in the job that we do and (the Oliver rumour) kept coming on my desk and I kept laughing and then my sons started messaging me so I thought bugger this and picked up the phone,” Lyon told AFL Nation.
“Neither Melbourne, neither Carlton, neither the manager has mentioned Clayton Oliver in any way shape or form.
“That’s the response there. In fact, the guy I spoke to said he would run naked around the Tan if it happened.”
Oliver finished fifth in Melbourne’s 2020 best and fairest, playing 17 games this season.
