Harry McKay looms as Carlton’s breakout player in 2021.
McKay put in a powerful performance in a Blues intra-club game at Ikon Park on Friday morning, kicking five goals and giving one off to teammate Zac Fisher.
The emering Blue was strong in the air playing deep forward in the two-hour hitout.
McKay, who kicked 21 goals in 13 games last year, has put in a big summer in preparation for the new season.
“He’s looking very strong, fast and mean,” Blues teammate Jacob Weitering told SEN Mornings in January.
“He’s very strong now in the upper body, but still maintains his quickness and it’s going to be very exciting come Round 1.”
Young Blues midfielder Sam Walsh also stood out, kicking two goals and finding plenty of the footy.
Recruit Zac Williams (jaw) suffered an early scare but returned to finish the match, while Levi Casboult limped off with a knee injury.
Three goals in 10 minutes to Harry McKay in the first 10 minutes of @CarltonFC match-sim. Cripps looking terrific. Probables v possibles at this stage.

Lovely pack grab by Harry McKay in the second quarter. Beat about about four to the ball. Then gave it off to Fisher for the goal. Suspect this won’t happen come the season. @CarltonFC
