Demons forwards dine out in VFL goal-fest

Melbourne forwards Sam Weideman and Ben Brown kicked 10 goals between them in the VFL as they push for senior selection.

The latter arrived from North Melbourne during the off-season and is yet to debut for his new club after undergoing knee surgery in February.

It’s gives coach Simon Goodwin a selection headache - how to fit Weideman, Brown and Tom McDonald in the same forward line.

McDonald, Luke Jackson and Bayley Fritsch, who will miss two weeks with a fractured hand, have functioned well together inside 50 in the early part of the season.

The Demons are 4-0 heading into Sunday’s match against Hawthorn at the MCG.
