Carlton has won a crazy VFL game against Brisbane’s reserves on Saturday afternoon, with two Blues particularly impressive in the victory.
All eyes were on Paddy Dow, who continued to press his claim for an AFL recall after being dropped following his side’s Round 4 AFL win against Gold Coast.
The former pick three was impactful around the contest throughout the side’s 69-point victory, finding the ball 20 times and laying six tackles.
Will Setterfield was also lively, winning 25 touches as well as laying 10 tackles during the match.
The Blues kicked a whopping 12 goals in the opening term, with the quarter ticking over 40 minutes at IKON Park.
The Lions hit back immediately in the second term, kicking seven goals to two to trail by 27 points at half time, before Carlton regained complete control of the contest in the third term as the goals continued to flow.
Former Collingwood and Adelaide player and now VFL-listed Blue Ben Crocker kicked seven goals in the match.
Rhys Mathieson was arguably Brisbane’s best player, kicking four goals.
Matthew Kennedy (Carlton) and Tom Berry (Brisbane) will likely be named their respective side’s medical subs for this afternoon’s AFL game after sitting out the VFL contest.
