Melbourne forwards Ben Brown and Sam Weideman continued their dominant VFL form for Casey Demons on Saturday.
Brown booted four goals while Weideman finished with three majors in Casey’s 59-point win over Richmond at Punt Road.
The Demons duo are banging down the door for AFL selection having combined for 17 goals in two weeks.
Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin resisted the urge to recall Brown and Weideman instead sticking with Luke Jackson and Tom McDonald in attack to face Richmond.
McDonald took five marks and kicked three goals in Saturday night’s 34-point win over the Tigers, while Jackson contributed two majors and laid five tackles.
St Kilda ruckman Paddy Ryder made a successful return via the VFL on Saturday.
Playing for Sandringham against Port Melbourne, Ryder put in a commanding display that could see him recalled for the Saints’ Round 7 match against Hawthorn.
The veteran had 15 disposals, 17 hit-outs, four marks and a goal to half-time, while fringe Saint Luke Dunstan amassed a whopping 46 disposals.
Port Melbourne ran out 26-point winners over the Zebras at ETU Stadium.
