Bachar Houli has suffered an ankle injury in what is another dagger into the hearts of Richmond.
The veteran defender sustained the injury during last night’s 10-point loss to Gold Coast at Marvel Stadium.
SEN’s Sam Edmund has reported that Houli underwent scans on his left leg earlier today and it has been revealed as a syndesmosis injury.
It is understood that Houli will undergo surgery on his left ankle.
It’s the latest of the dreaded issue to hit the Tigers after fellow defenders Noah Balta and Nathan Broad were struck down by a similar ailment in last Friday night’s loss to St Kilda.
IT gets worse for Richmond. The latest injury blow has Bachar Houli with a syndesmosis. You’d say at this stage it’s highly likely to be season-ending. Balta, Broad, Lambert, Prestia, Nankervis. Edwards sore, Vlastuin sore etc etc etc. More on https://t.co/5hhj3jzPVZ

It leaves a long line of injured Tigers including Dion Prestia, Kane Lambert, Toby Nankervis, Balta and Broad as their season begins to slip away following three defeats on the trot.
Additionally, Shane Edwards and Nick Vlastuin copped knocks during the game while youngster Callum Coleman-Jones hurt his calf and was subbed out at half-time.
The issue may well prematurely end the 2021 season of the 33-year-old and has placed his career in doubt.
