Tim Watson's mail on Nathan Buckley's footy media future

What is next for former Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley?

Former Essendon captain Tim Watson is hearing that the longstanding coach and elite media performer is heading to Fox Footy next year.

He discussed the mail with Garry Lyon on SEN Breakfast on Thursday.

Watson: “Are you hearing anything about Bucks and what he might do next year?”

Lyon: “No?”

Watson: “Have you got a spot for him at your workplace?”

Lyon: “I’d love him. Have you got a spot for him at yours?”

Watson: “I think he’s headed your way.”

Lyon: “Do you? Well there’s a bombshell this morning.”

Watson: “On the Couch too, he wants the couch to himself,” he joked.

Lyon: “I’ll make way! You’ve just dropped this and I know when you drop stuff like this (Channel Seven’s) obviously missed out on him.”

Watson: “What do you mean we’ve missed out?”

Lyon: “Don’t tell me (Channel Seven) weren’t having a big go at him.”

Watson: “Oh yeah, we did.”

Lyon: “So you’re saying you missed out?”

Watson: “No I’m saying we couldn’t stump up. You guys must have a lot of coins in your purse.”

Lyon: “So he’s coming to Fox is what you’re saying? That’s a bombshell.”

Buckley and Collingwood parted ways before the bye, with St Kilda champion Robert Harvey taking over as caretaker coach.

The 48-year-old previously had a stint in the media with Channel Seven after his illustrious playing career.
