After 10 years on the Western Bulldogs’ list, Lin Jong has called time on his AFL career.
Injuries cruelled his decade at the Dogs, playing the 65 games since being selected in the 2011 Rookie Draft.
Jong added just the four games of footy from 2019 onwards and only featured once in 2021.
When asked whether he would have been a 150-plus-gamer if not for the injury setbacks, former Western Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy responded “yeah I think so”.
“He was tough. Proper tough,” Murphy told SEN’s Bob and Andy.
“He was athletic and could make the hard look easy and then sometimes make the easy look hard.
“But he was tough, could win the footy, a good teammate, brave, very brave.”
Jong isn’t the only footballer who called time on their careers on Wednesday, with 2018 premiership Eagle Daniel Venables officially hanging up the boots.
