In-demand Bulldog signs contract extension

Western Bulldogs livewire Ed Richards has re-signed at the Kennel.

The out of contract 22-year-old has re-committed to the club until the end of 2023.

Richards was a figure of interest at other clubs, given the Bulldogs' depth.

Essendon great Matthew Lloyd named Richards as one of eight players who should consider a fresh start for greater opportunity at the end of the year.

He was on the sidelines until Round 15 after suffering an ankle injury in a pre-season game.

Richards has played 63 AFL Games since being taken with a first-round pick in the 2017 National Draft.
