Rugby league great Brett Kimmorley has updated his rolling Kangaroos side after week one of the NRL finals series.
With the Storm getting the job done over the Sea Eagles, Kimmorley decided to make a direct swap with his props.
While Jake Trbojevic was last week in the number 10 jersey, Kimmorley couldn’t look past the form of Storm and Queensland star Christian Welch.
Having scored a try and ran for over 150 metres, Kimmorley named the Melbourne forward as his preferred option.
Kimmorley explained why Welch was picked ahead of other forwards on SEN 1170’s Higher Ground.
“I thought the two front-rowers (Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Welch) were unbelievable,” Kimmorley said.
“They both do very different roles, but they’re both my first choice picked.
“Tino was big and strong and athletic, and obviously Christian just does all of the one-percenters so well.
“He gets every play the ball and ties up the middle, so I think that’s a pretty good front-row.
“Welch is a player you’d love in your team.”
Listen to Brett Kimmorley and Chris Warren each Sunday match day from 12-3pm on SEN 1170 or via the SEN App.
