Mabior Chol is set to turn his back on Richmond and join the Gold Coast Suns, according to Fox Footy’s Tom Morris.
His new deal is believed to span for three years, with a trigger for a fourth season.
The 24-year-old is a free agent, meaning the Tigers cannot force a trade to try and keep him.
He has struggled for consistent selection in his time at Tigerland, playing just 31 games since his debut in 2016.
Senior Richmond advisor Neil Balme told SEN Afternoons earlier on Wednesday that he believed Chol was still a “chance” to stay and the Tigers wanted to keep him.
However, it appears that hope has now evaporated.
Chol is expected to partner Ben King in the Suns forward line and can pinch-hit in the ruck to support co-captain Jarrod Witts.
