Fox Footy senior reporter Tom Morris believes that Jordan Dawson’s mooted move to Adelaide looms as one of the most interesting deals of the trade period.
The impressive Swan requested a trade from Sydney to South Australia, his hometown, earlier this month, nominating the Crows as his club of choice.
Dawson's foot skills and versatility were on show throughout 2021 for the Swans, is expected to command plenty in any deal.
Morris said Adelaide’s draft hand is likely to see negotiations go down right to the trade period deadline.
“It’s a shame for the Swans that (Jordan) Dawson didn’t nominate Port Adelaide,” he said on SEN’s Whateley.
“They have pick 16 which I think would be a lot closer to getting this deal done. My theory is the Swans will say no, no, no and no and (negotiations) will go very deep into the trade period and Adelaide will say no back.
“They’ll have to get creative and I think a third club will have to get involved. This is the trade deal that interests me the most, even more than Adam Cerra.
“He finished third in the best and fairest and then leaving the club – albeit for family reasons – to go to the Crows, that really hurts Sydney.”
This year’s trade period will begin on October 4 and run until the evening of October 13.
