Yeo names the player the Panthers fear the most in Storm outfit

Penrith forward Isaah Yeo knows his team faces a tough challenge when they face the Melbourne Storm in Saturday’s Preliminary Final.

Having lost to the Storm in the 2020 Grand Final, Yeo knows more than most about the stars that Craig Bellamy possesses across the field.

With Origin forwards, star international centres, elite playmakers and a Clive Churchill Medal winning fullback, there’s no shortage of match-winning options in the Storm side.

As there’s a plethora of game-breakers in the Melbourne side, Yeo was asked by SEN host Andrew Voss who he’s most concerned about dominating Saturday’s big game.

“They’ve got it all over the park,” Yeo replied on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“But, I think Jahrome Hughes has played well against us the last few times.

“His running, more so than his ball playing, he’s tore us apart a few times there.

“It probably helps that they’ve got so much talent outside of him that sometimes you can be caught sliding off.

“He’s been one of the form halfbacks of the competition for the last two years to be fair, he’s been outstanding.

“If we can try and stop that and take away his run, that’d be nice.”

While Hughes is the main player Yeo and his teammates will be trying to stop, he’s weary of giving the number seven too much attention due to the stars on either side of him.

“When you look across the park, they’ve obviously got tremendous middles, and when you look to the edges they’ve got some of the form centres and wingers in the competition,” Yeo explained.

“They’ve got big game players riddled throughout (their line-up).

“It makes for an exciting contest, that’s for sure.”

The Storm and Panthers face off at 4pm this Saturday afternoon at Suncorp Stadium.

The winner of the clash will face either South Sydney or Manly in the 2021 NRL Grand Final.
