Port Adelaide star Ollie Wines has capped off an outstanding season by winning his first best and fairest award overnight.
Wines, the 2021 Brownlow Medallist, polled 229 votes to finish 62 ahead of Travis Boak and 65 clear of Aliir Aliir.
The 26-year-old midfielder also received his first All-Australian blazer in August after a career-best season.
“I have no doubt this group is full of character. The fire burns within us, so we’ll be back next year,” Wines said in his acceptance speech on Thursday night.
Fellow All-Australian Tom Stewart took out Geelong’s best and fairest – his first Carji’ Greeves Medal.
Stewart, who missed the final five games of the season due to a foot injury, finished on 214 votes, two clear of Jack Henry and 25 ahead of Tom Hawkins.
The 28-year-old defender was named All-Australian for a third time in just his fifth season.
GWS midfielder Josh Kelly also won his second Kevin Sheedy Medal on Thursday night, polling 159 votes to take out the award ahead of Toby Greene (149) and Jacob Hopper (142).
