Essendon makes another list change

Essendon has informed Dylan Clarke that he won’t be offered a new contract for 2022.

However, the Bombers will present Clarke with an opportunity to secure a list spot as a pre-season supplemental selection period signing.

The midfielder will continue training with the club in the pre-season.

Essendon GM of Football Josh Mahoney said in a club statement: “Dylan has constantly displayed dedication and a team-first approach throughout his time with the club.

“While we have made the decision to delist him, we will give him the opportunity to keep training with the playing group with the option to be taken as a pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP) signing.”

Clarke was selected with pick No.63 in the 2016 National Draft and went on to play 24 games for Essendon.

The 23-year-old was delisted at the end of 2020, before earning a spot on the Bombers’ list for the 2021 season via last year’s rookie draft.
