Mitch Marsh joined Sportsday WA to discuss the Australia’s return to T20 form, with the 30-year-old explaining the positive feeling within the group.
It comes after a wave of criticism was directed toward Justin Langer over recent months, after reported issues within the Australian team.
“The vibe in this group now has been great … you don’t make semi-finals or get through pool stages without a great vibe in the team,” Marsh said.
“JL’s (Justin Langer) been fantastic since we’ve been over here.”
Marsh, who is enjoying a great run of T20 form, was also hopeful to return to the Australian Test team ahead of the Ashes beginning next month.
“I certainly still have aspirations to get back into the Test team at some stage,” Marsh added.
“I don’t have a lot of red-ball cricket (form) to put my hand up for selection (with), but JL’s always said that form is form, no matter the format.
“Hopefully (my) international form can carry over to selection to the red-ball stuff.”
Marsh averages 25.20 in Test cricket with two hundreds to his name. The Ashes squad is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The 30-year-old all-rounder scored 53 in Australia’s win over the West Indies at the T20 World Cup.
