“We’ve had some fantastic times”: Brownlow Medallist departs flagship Fox Footy program

Brownlow Medallist Gerard Healy has stepped down as host of Fox Footy’s On The Couch after 20 years in the role.

Healy has hosted the flagship program since 2002, which was voted the Best TV Program at the 2021 Australian Football Media Association Awards in September.

Healy hosted On The Couch every Monday night this year alongside panellists Garry Lyon, Nick Riewoldt and Jonathan Brown.

The 60-year-old will stay on at Fox Footy in 2022 in other roles.

"It's a sad day in some respects, but it's a happy day for me too," Gerard said on Sportsday.

"I made a deal with management a couple of years ago that this would be my final year.

"We've had some fantastic times. It's been a big part of my life."

Healy is a three-time All-Australian and a member of Sydney’s Team of the Century.
