Day 4 of summer carnival racing at Eagle Farm this afternoon featuring the Group 3 Grand Prix plus the Gold Edition & Lough Neagh both at Listed level. It’s been a fine week in Brisbane with no rain about, the track is rated a Good (4) with a warm day ahead (max 29). We kick off at 12.48pm local Queensland time.

Race 3 # 5 TAMILAIDE
Promising galloper who was strong to the line first up at Ipswich clocking in third behind another promising type in Palaisapan who then came out & beat all bar Apache Chase in last week’s Gateway.
His best form to date has been on wet tracks however he has placed both Good track starts suggesting that stat may be a little misleading. Drawn well for Kiwi hoop Sam Collett he should settle around midfield before producing his customary big finish in the straight.

Race 4 # 4 HUMBOLT CURRENT
You certainly wouldn’t want to be having your last on this one however this looks a very suitable race for him.
He closed off well first up at the Sunshine Coast before a little flat next time, he can improve sharply here though stepping up to the longer trip on a track he has a good record on.
He’s also proven at the distance which can’t be said for two of the three runners ahead of him in this morning’s market.
Race 7 # 4 JACKSON ON TIME
Without doubt the best maiden going around in Queensland having had the two starts in strong company clocking in third on each occasion.
The first of those was fast finishing behind Finance Tycoon & Shaquero in a Magic Millions lead up back in January, out for a break he returned in the Winning Rupert at Doomben charging from last to be beaten only 2 lengths.
The bigger track & longer run home should suit him down to the ground, look out late!
Race 9 # 10 LETHAL WARNING
At the price on offer this morning I’m suggesting we can back this Tony Gollan trained mare with confidence on an each-way basis. By Lucas Cranach she’s definitely going to be suited stepping out over further however the mile second up off a tidy first up 1400m effort suits & this is not a strong race class wise.
