Melbourne Storm star Brandon Smith will join the Sydney Roosters for the 2023 season on a three-year deal.
Smith will see out the final year of his contract with the Storm before moving to the Roosters.
The 25-year-old caused a stir after publicly declaring he wants to win a premiership with the Roosters on the YKTR Sports podcast.
“We’re excited to announce the signing of Brandon to a three-year arrangement and look forward to welcoming him to the club in 2023,” Roosters Head of Recruitment & Junior Player Development Daniel Anderson said in a club statement.
The hooker was a key member of the Storm’s premiership-winning team in 2020 and has played a total of 86 NRL games since making his first grade debut in 2017.
Smith has represented New Zealand on seven occasions and has made two appearances for the Māori All Stars.
