St Kilda has confirmed that four players have signed new contracts with the club.
Defenders Callum Wilkie and Jimmy Webster, the versatile Daniel McKenzie and youngster Matthew Allison have all penned new deals with the Saints.
Wilkie, who enjoyed his best season with the club in 2021, has signed on for one further season and is now locked away at Moorabbin until the end of 2024 having signed a two-year deal at the start of the year.
The 25-year-old has emerged as one of St Kilda’s most important defenders since he was rookied in 2019, finishing fourth in the best and fairest this year.
Webster has committed to the Saints until the end of 2023 alongside McKenzie.
Allison, who was drafted in 2020, has extended until 2024 having already been contracted until the end of next year.
“We’re really happy to have Cal, Jimmy, Dan and Matty extend their contracts,” Saints list boss James Gallagher told Saints.com.au.
“Cal and Jimmy proved their importance to our defensive half on countless occasions last season, while Dan was able to transform his game and become an important cog in our set-up.
“Cal has been exceptional at senior level since being taken as a rookie selection. He’s a respected member of our leadership group and a valuable player in defence, and we’re looking forward to seeing that develop further moving forward.
“While we’re yet to see Matty at senior level, we want to provide a platform for him to continue to improve in our environment, and ultimately become an important player for us in the future.”
