Grace Kim “trending in the right direction” ahead of Epson Tour

Australian golfer Grace Kim is loving life as a professional.

The 21-year-old will join the 2022 schedule of the Epson Tour, but not before she participates in the Vic Open this week.

Kim, who is in action at 13th Beach, is excited for the year ahead as she steps fully into the pro world.

“I’m definitely trending in the right direction, I believe,” Kim said on SEN Breakfast.

“I turned professional in September and I definitely have been on the blessed side in the first couple of steps of my professional career.

“Having tournaments here in Australia to kickstart the year and then playing on the Epson Tour. It’s just been amazing for me and a great opportunity to play against people like Hannah (Green) and Su (Oh) back at home, which is a bonus.

“I’ve been loving it.”

Kim identified the major difference she has noticed since leaving her amateur career behind.

“You always have purpose to your practice, but everyone as a pro is good out here, so just being really specific with what you need to work on and being dialled down into the numbers and technique,” she added.

“I’m quite technical so I like to work on numbers. Just tweaking a little bit here and there, and dialling in those numbers is basically what makes you better as a pro.

“And obviously you play for money so there’s a bit more on the line.”
