Punter drops $30k on AFL pre-season match

Melbourne’s shock loss in Thursday night’s AFL pre-season match against Carlton has cost one unlucky punter $30,818.50.

Last year’s premiers were the clear favourites heading into the clash, entering the game the $1.22 favourites but it wasn't to be, going down to the Blues 98-93 at Marvel Stadium.

The $30,818.50 stake would’ve seen the punter win $37,598,57, a profit of $6.780.07.

Despite Carlton dominating proceedings for the majority, the Dees found themselves six points down with two minutes remaining, making the loss even worse.

Bicks drilled down on Adelaide's midfield mix, and Matt Crouch's spot in the side.
