Carlton fans will be thrilled with a raft of individual performances in the club’s 139-62 victory against Richmond in a VFL practice match on Thursday night.

With the game being played at Punt Road Oval ahead of the AFL fixture between the two sides, Carlton raced out of the blocks to take a 53-point lead into quarter time.

Former first-round pick Sam Philp played a massive hand in his side’s early dominance, kicking three first-quarter goals to put Richmond to the sword.

The pain didn’t stop there for the Tigers, with fellow AFL listed players Jesse Motlop (three goals), Jack Carroll (one goal), Lachie Fogarty (one goal), Brodie Kemp (one goal) and Jack Newnes (one goal) hitting the scoreboard in the first half.

Entering the second half with a 76-point lead, the Blues stretched out their lead to a remarkable 104 points at three quarter time before Richmond managed to kick five goals to one in the last term as they reduced the margin.

For Tigers fans, Sydney Stack and Noah Cumberland booted two majors apiece while Maurice Rioli Jr and Judson Clarke also hit the scoreboard.

Dangerfield kicks his fourth goal for the game and seals an impressive victory for the Cats to kick off Gather Round - (AFL NATION)
