Round 5 of the Hostplus Cup has picked up where it left off this weekend, after every team had a week off over Easter.
The first match of the round saw the top-of-the-table Falcons take on the Cutters on Saturday, and it was the competition frontrunners that managed to take the match 30-10.
The win makes it three in a row for the Falcons, who outperformed the Cutters in tricky conditions to leap into pole position on the ladder.
Next up was the Jets and the Devils, who were able to produce a more evenly matched game at North Ipswich Reserve, however, it was the Devils who had the edge at the final siren, taking the win 36-32.
The final match of the day saw the Pride take on the Dolphins, in what was set to be an entertaining match as both sides had only managed to win one of their previous four games.
The Dolphins were first to add to the scoreboard, with early possession leading Setu Tu to cross over in the corner in the fifth minute of the game, however, they were unable to maintain their dominance, allowing the Pride to come back and seal the win 30-18.
Sunday afternoon will be packed with footy, with four games left to play to close out the round. The Blackhawks will take on the Seagulls at 2:10pm, while the remaining three games will each kick off at 3:00pm.
