Geelong loses young gun ahead of North Melbourne clash

Geelong has swung a late change ahead of Saturday night’s clash with North Melbourne, ruling out young star Sam De Koning.

De Koning has quickly become one of the Cats’ most integral players but will miss out against the Roos.

The club has reported the 22-year-old has a corked muscle.

De Koning's absence is more substantial given fellow intercepting defender Tom Stewart was handed a four week ban at the tribunal earlier this week.

Quinton Narkle is now in the starting 22, with Shaun Higgins to be the medical substitute.

North Melbounre will line up as announced, naming Phoenix Spicer as their medical substitute

The clash begins at 7.25pm AEST at GMHBA Stadium.
