It is time to honour the AFL’s more experienced heads.
For the young guns there is the Rising Star award and the 22Under22 side but those 30 or over need some love.
The SEN Run Home team of Andy Maher, Andrew Gaze, Josh Jenkins and Julian De Stoop have put together their 30 Over 30 for season 2022.
These selecitons are based on 2022 form only (NOT CAREER ACHIEVEMENT) and only players who turned 30 prior to the season beginning (on March 16) are eligible.
For example, the likes of Jamie Elliott and Tom Liberatore, who turned 30 during the season, are NOT eligible.
30 OVER 30: TWO MAGPIES, A PAIR OF CATS AND A DUO OF SWANS AT 30-21
30 OVER 30: TRIO OF TIGERS, CATS VETERAN, RETIRING DOCKER HEADLINE 20-11
The Top 10 is represented by three Geelong players, two from Melbourne, plus a Collingwood great, one Adelaide forward, a Sydney star, a Port Adelaide veteran and a consistent Hawthorn goalkicker.
See below 10-1 of the 30 Over 30 for season 2022.
