Four Hawks & Demons, trio of Blues, two Pies and a Tiger make VFL squad of 40

The VFL has named a squad of 40 who will be in contention for the 2022 VFL Team of the Year.

Box Hill Hawks, Casey Demons and Werribee lead the way with four nominees each while there were three apiece from Carlton, Port Melbourne, Southport and Sydney.

Among the selected 40 is fringe Blues midfielder Paddy Dow, Richmond’s Jake Aarts, Demons forward Mitch Brown, teammate Luke Dunstan, and Magpies talent Finlay Macrae.

Former Rising Star winner Lewis Taylor was also in the squad alongside ex-Melbourne defender Neville Jetta, who has enoyed a strong season with Collingwood.
