Manly Sea Eagles winger Reuben Garrick has reportedly agreed to a four-year contract extension with the club according to SEN’s Michelle Bishop.
The Newcastle Knights were keen on acquiring the 25-year-old and have him play in his desired position of fullback and permanently move Kalyn Ponga to five-eighth.
In a bid to retain their star, Manly made a counter offer to Garrick which also promised a positional change to the centres and the winger has obliged.
“He’s certainly not off to Newcastle,” Bishop said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“He has agreed to terms with Manly (and) it is a four-year deal.
“He did have a year to go on his current contract but they’re giving him an upgrade for 2023.
“The club is certainly looking forward now.
“These are some signs of stability again on the back of Des Hasler’s ugly exit.
“Exciting for the club as it appears to be heading into the right direction.
“Great to see Reuben Garrick stay.”
The extension means that Garrick will remain at Manly until the end of the 2027 season.
