Carlton have signed Alex Cincotta (formerly Carlton Football Club in the VFL) via the Supplementary Selection Period.
The half back has been training at the club throughout the pre-season and joins fellow SSP selection Hudson O’Keefe on the list.
Carlton head of list management Nick Austin was delighted to hand the experienced backman an AFL opportunity.
“After a superb season in the reserves last year, we are delighted to elevate Alex onto the AFL list,” Austin said via a statement.
“Alex will work closely with our defensive group, building on his craft and developing his skills even further.
“He’s a mature-age player, who already understands our system and has played with a lot of our group, so we’re excited for Alex and pleased we’ve been able to provide him with an opportunity.”
Slots for both Cincotta and O’Keefe opened up after Zac Williams and Sam Philp were moved to the inactive list.
The Blues open their 2023 campaign with a Round 1 clash against Richmond on March 16 at the MCG.
