Can the Gold Coast Titans survive without Kieran Foran?
The Kiwi halfback was instrumental for the Titans in their Round One victory over the Tigers, before being forced off the field with a knee injury.
Foran’s horrid run with injuries has come back to haunt him once again however, with his latest setback on his knee set to rule him out for the next three weeks.
“He only had his scan late this afternoon and the physios are pretty confident it (the injury) is a PCL, the back one but it’s also his medial,” Titans coach Justin Holbrook said on SEN 1170 Sportsday.
“It’s not major, which is great but I’m certain he won’t play this weekend. We’re confident it will be a three-week type of injury, we’re waiting for that to be definitely confirmed.
“Foz (Foran) is great he said, ‘I’ll be right, it feels really good,’ I said to him, ‘Mate it’s in a brace’, that’s what I love about Kieran he just wants to play.”
With Foran set to miss the next three games, Holbrook admitted that Jayden Campbell will be the next in line to take over the number six jersey.
“We’ll have a chat about it tomorrow, we had that plan going into the game (Campbell filling in at six), it’s always awkward as a back sitting on the bench as a back, you could come on at anytime, anywhere,” Holbrook added.
“Having a full week ahead of his, I’m not sure, we’ll have to have a chat about it, he’s trained everywhere during preseason, and he defends really well JC.
“Obviously there’s not much of him, he gets that little bone and shoulder in, and he hits really hard.
“I’m comfortable for him to play six, we’ll just have to have a chat about it.”
Campbell is expected to fill the vacant six spot for the Titans when they travel to Kogarah to face the Dragons on Sunday afternoon.
