The player and team rankings for the new video game AFL 23 have been revealed and – well – there are some curiosities.
Fox Footy revealed the ratings, with Collingwood (87) the highest rated team in the game.
Geelong has the same rating as GWS.
Melbourne has the same ranking as Gold Coast and Essendon.
Western Bulldogs star Marcus Bontempelli has the highest overall rating of the players, with a 93. Carlton Brownlow Medallist Patrick Cripps is next at a 92. Sydney skipper Callum Mills is third at 90.
Fellow Swan Dane Rampe joins the group at 89 overall, including the likes of Lachie Neale, Jack Steele and Ollie Wines.
At 88, Richmond defender Nathan Broad and young Giant Tom Green sit alongside the likes of Clayton Oliver, Aaron Naughton, Darcy Moore and Tom Lynch.
Adelaide’s Ben Keays, Gold Coast’s David Swallow and Collingwood’s Isaac Quaynor are in the 87 bracket next to Isaac Heeney, Jack Macrae, Toby Greene and more.
Christian Petracca did not receive the usual cover athlete boost, sitting at an 85 alongside Ryan Lester, Kayne Turner, Harry Cunningham and Jimmy Webster – oh and Patrick Dangerfield, Sam Taylor and Rory Laird.
The ratings are based off Champion Data analytics.
