Clayton Oliver is a chance to play his first game since Round 10 when the Demons take on North Melbourne this weekend.
The star midfielder has missed with a hamstring injury that has lingered longer than expected.
Tom Morris is reporting that Oliver is a chance to take on the Roos, but will likely face Carlton the following week if not.
“My information is that Clayton Oliver is a red-hot chance to play this weekend, a big inclusion if he does,” Morris told SEN’s Sportsday.
“If he doesn’t, they’ll give him another week, but he is in the frame.”
Port Adelaide great Kane Cornes says he would be shocked if the Dees risked Oliver against the lowly Kangaroos.
“They don’t play him this week against North, do they?” Cornes said.
“Would you risk your best midfielder against North who have just lost to the worst team since Fitzroy and are on a 17-game losing streak.
“I certainly wouldn’t risk him.”
