The 2023 All-Australian team has officially been announced at the AFL Awards night at Melbourne’s Centrepiece.
Along with a raft of individual awards, the competition’s best 22 was revealed.
After much conjecture, GWS’ Toby Greene was named the side’s captain ahead of the likes of Marcus Bontempelli who was named vice-captain, Darcy Moore, Zach Merrett, James Sicily and Jordan Dawson.
The most represented club in the team was Collingwood and Port Adelaide who both had three players in Nick Daicos, Josh Daicos and Moore as well as Connor Rozee, Dan Houston and Zak Butters selected.
There were several first time honourees with Houston, Butters, the Daicos brothers, Dawson, Sicily, Errol Gulden, Taylor Walker, Caleb Serong, Tim English, Callum Wilkie and Nick Larkey earning maiden selections.
Jack Sinclair, Charlie Curnow, Darcy Moore, Charlie Cameron and Connor Rozee all earned second blazers while Bontempelli (five), Tom Stewart (five), Christian Petracca (four), Greene (three) and Merrett (three) all added another notch to their impressive records.
