Collingwood wingman Josh Daicos took home the huge honour of a best and fairest in a premiership season with his triumph in Collingwood's Copeland Trophy.

The Magpies held their count on October 6 at Crown, with Daicos capping off an All-Australian year with his first best and fairest in gathering 301 votes.

Daicos held on in a thrilling count from younger brother Nick and tough defender Brayden Maynard, both of who finished on 287 votes.

Star midfielders Tom Mitchell and Scott Pendlebury rounded out the top five.

Essendon captain Zach Merrett was awarded his fourth Crichton Medal.

The gun midfielder, who claimed a third All-Australian blazer in 2023, polled 211 votes to beat breakout forward Kyle Langford on 191.

Merrett joins club greats Tim Watson and Simon Madden on four Crichtons and now sits equal third on the club’s all-time list behind Dick Reynolds and Bill Hutchison (both seven) and James Hird (five).

Mason Redman (163), Andrew McGrath (160) and Jordan Ridley (150) made up the top five.

Caleb Serong claimed his first Doig Medal at Fremantle’s best and fairest count last month.

The 22-year-old gun midfielder won the count comfortably in the end, polling 222 votes to finish 43 clear of last year’s winner Andrew Brayshaw (179).

Serong became the third youngest Docker to win the Doig Medal behind Matthew Pavlich (20 in 2002) and Nat Fyfe (also 22 in 2013). He beat out Brayshaw, who was also 22, by three months.

Consistent defender Luke Ryan (167) finished third, prized recruit Luke Jackson (158) was fourth and promising youngster Hayden Young (140) rounded out the top five.

Vice-captain Tom Stewart won his second ‘Carji’ Greeves Medal as Geelong’s best and fairest.

The star defender attracted 135 votes to comfortably win from Tom Atkins who polled 105.

Stewart, who was named All-Australian for a fifth time in 2023, adds this year’s best and fairest to the club champion award he won in 2021.

Gryan Miers (93), Zach Guthrie (87) and Jeremy Cameron (69) made up the Cats’ top five.

Noah Anderson won his first Club Champion award at the Gold Coast Suns in early September.

The star midfielder, who polled 22 Brownlow Medal votes, attracted 590 votes to beat key defender Sam Collins (563) and midfield mate Matt Rowell (559) to the award.

Defender Charlie Ballard and ruckman and co-captain Jarrod Witts made up the top five.

Giants skipper Toby Greene claimed his second Kevin Sheedy Medal.

The 2023 All-Australian captain polled 71 votes to edge out Stephen Coniglio and Tom Green (both 66 votes) who tied in second.

Greene also won the Giants best and fairest in 2016.

Lachie Whitfield (61) and Josh Kelly (58) finished fourth and fifth respectively.

First-year sensation Harry Sheezel took out his first Syd Barker Medal as North Melbourne’s best and fairest in mid-September.

The 18-year-old star in the making, who also won the Rising Star, polled 197 votes to beat All-Australian forward Nick Larkey (173) to the award.

Bailey Scott, Luke Davies-Uniacke and the retired Jack Ziebell rounded out the top five.

Tim Taranto claimed the Jack Dyer Medal at Richmond’s best and fairest count on October 3.

The first-year Tiger polled 68 votes to beat club great Dustin Martin who finished second on 54 votes.

Taranto, 25, starred in his debut season in the yellow and black after his move from GWS last trade period.

Shai Bolton (50), Nick Vlastuin (46) and Dan Rioli (45) rounded out the top five.

Jack Sinclair claimed a second successive St Kilda best and fairest this year.

The half-back flanker, who moved into the midfielder, polled 237 votes to win the Trevor Barker Award from fellow 2023 All-Australian Callum Wilkie who was nine votes in arrears.

Sinclair joins current teammates Seb Ross and Jack Steele on two St Kilda B&Fs.

Ruckman Rowan Marshall and young guns Mitch Owens ands Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera rounded out the top five.

Errol Gulden dominated the Bob Skilton Medal count to claim Sydney’s best and fairest.

The 21-year-old Swans young gun capped of a stunning season by polling a mammoth 738 votes to claim his first B&F, 257 clear of second-placed Nick Blakey (481).

James Rowbottom (471), Luke Parker (456) and Chad Warner (453) rounded out the top five.

Gulden adds the Swans’ top award to his maiden All-Australian selection after finishing equal fourth in this year’s Brownlow Medal count.

Tim Kelly won his first John Worsfold Medal as West Coast’s best and fairest in early September.

The classy midfielder polled 200 votes to edge out gun forward Oscar Allen who finished on 163.

The former Geelong gun became the 25th Eagle to win the award.

Defender Liam Duggan, off-season recruit Jayden Hunt and recently retired former captain Shannon Hurn made up the top five.

Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli claimed his fifth Charles Sutton Medal on October 4.

The Bulldogs superstar polled 342 votes to comfortably win the award ahead of midfield mate Tom Liberatore on 278.

As a result, Bontempelli becomes just the sixth player in Dogs history to win five or more best and fairest awards and now sits two behind Scott West’s club record of seven and one in arrears of Gary Dempsey’s six.

Dashing defender Ed Richards (193), the diminutive Caleb Daniel (190) and returning backman Liam Jones (172) made up the top five.
