Wojnarowski is also reporting that team representatives are with Oubre Jr in the hospital and are fearing significant but not season-ending injuries.
The news comes just 24 hours after the Sixers moved to the top of the NBA’s Eastern Conference with a 114-106 win over the Detroit Pistons, with Oubre Jr putting up eight points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes.
Oubre Jr has impressed in his first eight games as a Sixer after joining on a minimum deal ($2 million per year) from the Charlotte Hornets.
The 27-year-old is averaging 16.3 points per game along with 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals per match.
He is also the fourth-highest scorer on a Sixers team that has only lost one of its first eight games to hold the second-best record in the NBA. More to come.
