The South East Melbourne Phoenix have slumped to their second straight loss as the Illawarra Hawks defeated them by a whopping 38 points at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
Gary Clark was super influential for the Hawks, as he recorded an impressive double-double (16 points and 13 rebounds) in the 116-78 victory.
Star Phoenix forward Mitch Creek did everything he could for his side, as he scored 24 points from his 30 minutes, which was a game high across both teams.
The loss for the Phoenix is now their fifth from their last six games, leaving their chances of keeping their spot inside the top six by the end of the season in doubt.
The Hawks will look to continue their winnings ways when they take on the JackJumpers away from home on Friday.
As for the Phoenix, their next match will be on the road against the Wildcats on Saturday.
